WHAT GOD IS TEACHING ME ABOUT PRAYER (PART 1)
Without it, there can’t be intimate relationship!
Since prayer is one of the keys to Godly passion, I have this deep desire to take my prayer life to deeper and deeper levels. God continues to teach me, and I'm hungry to learn so much more about prayer. I'm attempting to organize my thoughts on this subject and this may take several posts to do.
Prayer is needed for every part of our lives. Even though God already knows our inmost thoughts, He still wants to hear our hearts’ cries to Him.
Prayer is a time of worship as well as thanksgiving. It is a time to lay down my worries and fears and give them over to the One who can do something about them. He wants to trade my heavy yoke and give me his light yoke so that He can take care of my burdens. Prayer is a time of listening to His sweet voice. It is a time for me to talk to God like I talk to my earthly best friend. He wants to hear what's on my heart. He wants to know my frustrations, my loves, my needs, my fears, and my praises. It doesn't have to be fancy or profound. He just wants to hear my heart.
Prayer is where "relationship" with God is built. You can't have a relationship with another human being if you never talk with them. If you only talk about surface level things and never share your heart, that relationship will not go very deep. Intimate prayer, alongside with time in God's Word, is how we go deep and develop our relationship with God.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. -Colossians 3:16
For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. -Hebrews 4: 12
Pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man's whole body-Proverbs 4:20-22
Terri, these are verses that speak to me! Experience the Word changing you from the inside out!
God's Word is alive and active in me
Father-we ask to help us receive the Word of God, which is actively at work in those who believe-
(1 Thess. 2:13). Make it effective in me today, and make me effective in You.
