YUMMY SNACKS!

As a pregnant mom, healthy snacks are vital to life right now. The two things I've eaten more of than anything else in this pregnancy are:

1) apples and peanutbutter

2) vanilla yogurt, home-made granola with fresh fruit (today, it's strawberries!!)

As a result, my kids have adopted my cravings as well. I wanted to share this granola recipe with you. We eat it with fruit & yogurt, a little milk, or just plain. And, the best thing about it... IT'S EASY!!

3/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup veg. oil
1/3 cup honey
5 cups oatmeal (I use 4 cups oatmeal and 1 cup honey bunches of oats cereal with almonds)
1/2 cup dry milk
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt

Combine first 3 ingredients in sauce pan and heat until sugar is dissolved. Combine dry ingredients in 9X13 pan. (I spray pan first.) Mix well. Pour sugar mixture over dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Bake 375 for 10 minutes. When remove from oven, mix again. Cool and store in airtight container.

ENJOY!

A GIANT???

I already felt big compared to some other women due around the time that I am, but after tonight, I feel REALLY big. A lady came up to me (yes, I know this person, I really like her and she happens to have twins) and asked how many weeks I had left to go with the pregnancy. I told her I was in my 24th week and she said, "You have to be having twins! I was about your size, and even though the ultra sound showed one baby, there were two there at birth! Buy extra diapers just in case!" She had it written all over her face that she was convinced there is more than one baby inside of me. I'm not convinced. I'm just feeling big.

There was another pregnant lady at this banquet we went to tonight. I asked Evan, "Do you think she's pregnant?" He said yes, but I still was a little hesitant to say anything about it to her. After a conversation with her, I found out she's due only 3 days after me. Seriously, she was half the size that I am. I'm going to bed feeling very large tonight, but extremely thankful that God has carried us this far in this pregnancy. I just hope I'm not having a giant....

WHOA, NOW THAT'S A BIG PICTURE!

I can't seem to figure out how to fit it just right. I'm not sure if I'll ever figure it out, but it's definitely giving me a "new" look! This picture was taken a few years ago when we visited Glacier National Park with my sister and Andy. Just thought the landscape was pretty. I've had a little extra TIME on my hands these past couple of days in the evenings, so I've been having fun playing around with changing the look here. Now, if I could just figure the music thing out.... I'm just having issues with my layout page. I can't seem to pull the whole thing up. Maybe it's our ancient computer, and maybe it's the operator! I'm so not a computer person!!! One of these days I'll get some music on here!

WINDING DOWN

We only have one week left of our women's study on Monday nights. I absolutely love digging deeper into God's Word, and there's no accountability like an in-depth Bible study gives. We have studied Beth Moore's "Patriarch" study based on Genesis 12-50. As many times as I've read through that portion of Scripture, I've never grasped some of the details that I've discovered through this study. It never ceases to amaze me what God wants to teach me personally by studying the lives of those who lived so long ago and in such a different culture than we have today. God's Word is truly alive and active!

NEW LOOK

Yes, I was getting tired of the "old look" but didn't get too crazy with switching things up. It's that whole time issue thing. Don't worry, you're still at the right blog!!

FRIDAY PHOTOS

Just cleaning off my camera today, and thought I'd share a few random pictures here. We've had some beautiful weather, but it snowed pretty good this morning. Everything has since melted, the sun is shining and the temps have warmed up a bit.

Joel & Myah filling the wheelbarrow to bring hay to the cows. We have been feeding our neighbor's cows for a couple months now. We learned last night that our rancher friends have a calf for us this spring. We'll have to bottle feed it for a couple months, but should be a great learning experience for the kids. I'm not sure how the whole butchering thing will go, though. We keep the calf for 2 years before butchering, and that's a long time to get attached!!

Kiana can do puzzles for HOURS, and I'm not exaggerating. She just loves them. Here she and Joel are putting together a new one she got for her birthday.

Myah walking through the fields with her good friend, Hannah. They love playing outside together. Hannah will be moving late this summer to Boston, and the girls will sure miss their time together doing this type of thing.

Our faithful feeder friend!

p.s. IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!
TIME????

I just haven't had time to blog much lately, so I wanted to apologize for not having been on here in a while. Hopefully, once school winds down a bit in the next few months, I will be able to organize some thoughts again to share. For now, I just get frustrated that I can't even share what all has been going on around here... Kiana turned 3, about 3 weeks ago... Evan's grandma passed away... we had our ultrasound... 2 Bible studies still going strong... fencing projects... annoying cows... spring has sprung here... photos to share... great homeschooling stuff, including lots of hands-on, out-door learning... These are just a few of the things I wish I had time to write entire blogs about. Maybe someday I'll get around to it! Until then, thanks for being patient with me!!
