FIELD TRIP

I took the kids to my friend Della's house today. She has a daughter, Rachel, who's almost 13. They have been blessing our family with fresh milk for the past couple of weeks. Today we went to learn how to do some things with it. We made cheese, cottage cheese, honey butter and buttermilk. They sent us home with a cooler full of stuff, including two more gallons of milk, a half gallon of cream to make our own butter (or ice cream!) with, some buttermilk and two large chunks of cheese. On top of that, the spiritual blessing of being around a godly woman all day is priceless. The only regret I have is forgetting my camera at home! :( Thank you Della and Rachel for a super fun field trip. We truly are blessed to know you!!
TWO SCRIPTURES THAT HAVE MEANT A LOT TO ME LATELY

1 Peter 3:3-4

Do not let your adornment be merely outward -- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel -- rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

Ezekiel 36:26

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

PROVERBS 27:17

As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Thank you to all our friends who sharpen us. We are so thankful for godly people in our lives - people who see the real us on a regular basis and still love us. :)

GREAT TEACHING ON REGENERATION

I just can't seem to get enough of these teachings lately. I listen to them while I'm cooking, cleaning, doing anything around here! God's Word never returns void. It will NOT be a waste of your time to listen! In my opinion, you don't have time to NOT listen! I'm even getting close to begging you... A deeper understanding of God's Word has changed my life, and I pray I will never stop being changed and that I will continue to gain a deeper understanding until the day I die! I pray daily for discernment and to have blinders removed from my eyes so that I may see Him in truth! I pray the same for you... please take the time to listen...

SEEK HIM!

This blessed me immensely today. Just one of those 327 messages I told you about in my last post. This one literally brought me to tears. It's full of so much that I can't even begin to give you a taste in a few quotes. Thank you, Jesus, for receiving my small garden that I have to offer you! I praise you for your love!

PAUL WASHER SERMONS

327 Sermons available here for your spiritual growth! Pick just one and you'll be challenged, but I guarantee you can't just listen to one! I also added his web page to my sidebar, if you're interested in learning more about his ministry. I am convicted and challenged every time I listen to him teach the Word of God.
MSG

I've been doing a little research on MSG and learning how terrible it is for you...really... it's poison. Cancer thrives on it. I am trying to cut all things that may even contain small amounts of it out of our diet, but am still finding things that we eat somewhat regularly that contain it under a different name. It's in almost everything. Soups, spices, dressings, you name it! I even found a seasoning I use that says "No MSG!" on the label, but in very small print it says, "except the small amounts found in Autolyzed Yeast." Here is a website I found that gives hidden names for it. I hope to keep studying this, and will pass along information as I can that I learn!

FOUND THIS GREAT BLOG TODAY

Just thought I'd pass it on. Their most recent post is on Catholicism. Here is a quote..

"One of the most grievous things about this in our day is that there are thousands of professing "evangelical" catholics that sincerely believe they are Bible believers and at the same time are devoted to the catholic church and catholic faith. But you cannot be both-- it is either one or the other but not both. Either Jesus Christ and the Bible are right, thus leaving Catholicism wrong and in error, or Catholicism is right and the Bible is not true. You cannot have both, even though nice, sincere people say they believe both."

My goal is not to offend, only to bring truth.
BREAD RECIPE (as promised!)

6 3/4 tsp. active dry yeast (or 3 pkgs. 1/4 oz. each)
2 1/4 cup warm water
1/3 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. veg. oil
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. water
1 Tbsp. salt
5-6 cup all- purpose flour (I like to make 2-3 cups of this whole wheat)

Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar and oil; mix well. Add 1 cup whole wheat flour. Stir; let stand until mixture really bubbles, about 5 minutes. In a small bowl, beat eggs and water. If you desire an egg wash on top, remove 2 Tbsp., else dump it all in. Add salt. Mix until smooth. Add 4 cups all-purpose flour and beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic. (I use my kitchen aid mixer for the kneading part.) Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 20 minutes. Punch dough down and divide in half. Can place in 2 loaf pans, or divide each half into thirds and braid. Brush with reserved egg mixture (if desired), sprinkle on sesame seeds, garlic, or whatever. (I usually leave plain, but sometimes get creative) Rise again until doubled. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Enjoy!

"DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY"?????
Yet one more reason we cannot trust the emerging church movement!

*******************************

Romans 1 talks about unrighteousness. Here is scriptural proof of where we should stand on this topic. This is only a few verses from one single chapter in the Bible!

All men are without excuse "because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them..." (vs.19)

"...although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God...." (vs. 21)

"Professing to be wise, they became fools..." (vs. 22)

"therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves who exchanged he truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen." (vs. 24-25)

"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even the women exchaged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving he natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men commiting what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." (vs. 26-27)

"... being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, ...." (vs. 28)

"...knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same BUT ALSO APPROVE OF THOSE WHO PRACTICE THEM." (emphasis mine vs. 32)

Now let's take a look at what Brian Mclaren has to say about where he stands on this topic...

"Frankly, many of us don't know what we should think about homosexuality. We've heard all sides but no position has yet won our confidence so that we can say "it seems good to the Holy Spirit and us." (

A THOUGHT TO PONDER

"Thirty years ago unbelievers had more Christian principles than most Christians today."

PARENTS TOUT BENEFITS OF HOME SCHOOLS

This article is a great article written in our local county newspaper regarding home schooling. I thought it was written very well and it actually gave home schooling a positive note!
